Our Work

Our Work

Since our founding in 2020, to move the baton of movement work forward, we aim to not only educate on how Black bodies are affected by institutional and structural oppression but also offer deliberate solutions to movement leaders who are working to dismantle such systems. Here’s a rundown of our work and the projects we’ve supported:

Policy & Advocacy

We have always understood the importance of advocacy work in social movements and its relationship to moving policy. The work of NNLB has garnered the attention of our state legislators who are invested in our political education. We have served on panels to discuss our perspective as leaders on the ground and those invested in policy that transforms the lives of Black constituents.

Meet The Need

Our program, “Meet The Need,” is designed to tackle poverty as a policy problem. We recognize poverty as a systemic issue that requires policy solutions. As an educational initiative, “Meet The Need” seeks to revolutionize how we view poverty by addressing its root causes and suggesting ways to disrupt them.

Past Campaigns

Our communities are facing extreme structural racism. From healthcare to media, every aspect of our society is affected and has the potential to be criminalized. NNLB’s work centers on educating and elevating our communities by disrupting these social problems at their core. The work they produce will help bring results in the short-term to our community and in the long run bringing our community closer to Black liberation and reparations.

Work With Us

To help eliminate disparities and improve policy for underserved Black populations, we at NNLB produce culturally responsive research and political education to bolster healthy and safe communities for Black lives. Our team provides a wide range of expertise not limited to education, mass incarceration, and legislation work.
